Visitor emails
Hear by email when someone opens your link, and choose how often. On Hobby and Pro.
Visitor emails come with Hobby and Pro. You don't have to turn them on.
What sends one
A visitor's first page of the day at one of your shares or sites. The email says when they came, from which country, on what kind of device, and the page they opened first. On a link for invited people, it names them. One reads like this:
Some visits never send one:
- link previews from chat apps, and other bots,
- visitors who only reached ouicu's own pages, like the password page,
- the same visitor again that day at the same link (days are in UTC),
- you: see your own visits.
Settings
Under Account, Visitor emails, choose one of three:
| Setting | What you get |
|---|---|
| When someone opens a link | The default. An email at once, then at most one email a link every 30 minutes, naming everyone who came in between. |
| Only a link's first visitor | A share's first visitor, or a site's first after each upload. |
| Never | No visitor emails. |
You get at most 12 visitor emails an hour, whatever your links. Times are in your time zone, which ouicu takes from your browser.
Your own visits
ouicu leaves out visits that are likely you: from the network your share runs on, and from networks where you logged in to ouicu or used the command line tool in the last 30 days. So you can check your own link without emailing yourself.
What ouicu keeps
A visit you were emailed about is kept 30 days: the time, country, kind of device and the page's path, never its query or the visitor's address. Visits no email is about are deleted straight away.
