# ouicu > Give the site on your laptop a public https link with one command. Clients open it on any device, with a password or sign-in when you want one. ouicu is a command line tool and a service. `ouicu share 3000` gives the dev server on port 3000 a link like https://studiolund.ouicu.app that anyone can open while the command runs; `ouicu deploy ./dist` puts a built site up that stays online when the computer is off. Links can have a password or let in only invited people. There is an MCP server for coding agents, a Node SDK and an HTTP API. Install: `curl -fsSL https://ouicu.com/install.sh | sh` on macOS and Linux, `irm https://ouicu.com/install.ps1 | iex` in PowerShell on Windows. Visitors need no account and nothing installed. - Plans, in US dollars, VAT included (details: https://ouicu.com/docs/plans): - Free, $0 a month: 1 live share at a time; random names; shares last up to 2 hours; 1 uploaded site, kept 7 days; 1 GB a month; visitors see a short notice from ouicu before the page. - Hobby, $4 a month: 3 live shares at a time; 3 reserved names; passwords on any link; know when a link is opened; last version stays up when you go offline; 25 GB a month. - Pro, $15 a month: 10 live shares at a time; unlimited reserved names; client access by email; custom domains; 3 seats included, then $5 a month each; 150 GB a month. - Who makes it: Mads Sauer, in Denmark. Provided by enkelt.design (CVR 45871290). About: https://ouicu.com/about. Contact: hello@ouicu.com. - Compared with ngrok or Cloudflare Tunnel: all three give a local port a public address. Those are general tunnels with many uses; ouicu is made for showing work in progress to clients, with a reserved name per client, a password or invite list, an email when a link is opened, the last version kept up while the laptop is off, and uploads for built sites. - Elsewhere: releases of the command line tool at https://github.com/kroqdotdev/ouicu-cli; https://www.npmjs.com/package/@ouicu/sdk; https://www.npmjs.com/package/@ouicu/mcp. ## Start - [Getting started](https://ouicu.com/docs/getting-started): Install the command line tool, log in, and send your first link in a couple of minutes. ## Share - [Sharing a port](https://ouicu.com/docs/sharing): Give the dev server on your computer a public address: every flag, what passes through, and what to do when a page looks wrong. - [Uploading a built site](https://ouicu.com/docs/uploading): Put a built site up with one command. It stays online when your computer is off. - [Names](https://ouicu.com/docs/names): Every link has a name. Free links get a random one; on Hobby and Pro you can keep a name for each client. - [Custom domains](https://ouicu.com/docs/custom-domains): Show a reserved name at a domain of yours, like preview.yourstudio.com. On Pro. - [QR codes](https://ouicu.com/docs/qr-codes): Open a link on your phone without typing it, from the terminal or the dashboard. ## Visitors - [Who can open a link](https://ouicu.com/docs/access): Anyone with the link, people who have the password, or only the people you invite. - [Visitor emails](https://ouicu.com/docs/visitor-emails): Hear by email when someone opens your link, and choose how often. On Hobby and Pro. - [Last versions](https://ouicu.com/docs/last-versions): When your laptop sleeps, a reserved name keeps showing what visitors last saw. On Hobby and Pro. ## Plans - [Plans and data](https://ouicu.com/docs/plans): What each plan allows, how the monthly data allowance works, and what happens when it runs out. ## Build on ouicu - [Coding agents (MCP)](https://ouicu.com/docs/mcp): Let Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other agents share what they build and hand you the link. - [SDK](https://ouicu.com/docs/sdk): Share a port and put sites up from Node: in scripts, CI and test runs. - [API](https://ouicu.com/docs/api): Your shares, sites, their visitors and the month's data over HTTP, with an API key. ## Guides - [How to share localhost with someone](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-localhost): A localhost address only works on your own computer. Give your dev server a public https link instead, so a client or teammate can open it anywhere. - [Show a client a website before it goes live](https://ouicu.com/guides/show-a-client-your-site): Share the site from your laptop while you talk it through, or upload a build they can open in their own time, on any device. - [How to open localhost on your phone](https://ouicu.com/guides/open-localhost-on-your-phone): On a phone, localhost means the phone itself. Reach your dev server over your Wi-Fi, or with an https link that works on any network. - [Password-protect a staging site](https://ouicu.com/guides/password-protect-a-staging-site): Keep work in progress away from strangers and search engines: a password on the link, or a list of the only people who may open it. - [Share a website without setting up hosting](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-website-without-hosting): Upload a folder of HTML, or your build, with one command and send the link. No server, no Git and no DNS, and it stays up with your laptop off. - [Get a preview link from your coding agent](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-from-a-coding-agent): Your agent's localhost link only works on your computer. Let Claude Code, Cursor or Codex share the dev server or upload the build, and hand you a real link. - [Seven ways to show a client a work-in-progress website](https://ouicu.com/guides/ways-to-show-a-client-a-website): Screenshots, screen shares, staging, Vercel and Netlify previews, tunnels and uploads: what the client sees, what it costs, and which to pick. - [Localhost refused to connect on your phone: six checks](https://ouicu.com/guides/localhost-refused-to-connect-on-phone): When your phone can't reach your dev server, six checks find why: the address, what it listens on, the network, the firewall, host rules and https. - [Skip or avoid ngrok's browser warning page](https://ouicu.com/guides/ngrok-browser-warning): Why ngrok's free plan shows visitors a warning page, how ngrok-skip-browser-warning works for API calls, and what to use when a client opens the link. - [Share a Vite dev server without touching allowedHosts](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-vite-dev-server): Fix 'Blocked request. This host is not allowed' and get a link to your Vite dev server that works on any phone or laptop, with hot reload. - [Share a Next.js dev server, with or without allowedDevOrigins](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-nextjs-dev-server): Next.js 16.2 blocks dev resources from other origins by default. Share next dev with a public link and working hot reload, no config change. - [Share a Django dev server and fix CSRF origin errors](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-django-site): Give runserver a public https link, and fix 'CSRF verification failed. Origin checking failed' with one line in settings.py. - [Share a Rails dev server and fix Blocked hosts](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-rails-app): Rails checks X-Forwarded-Host as well as Host, so a shared dev server says Blocked hosts. One line fixes it, and forms and Action Cable work. - [Share an Angular dev server: Invalid Host header and Blocked request](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-an-angular-app): ng serve turns unknown hosts away with Blocked request, or Invalid Host header on the webpack builder. Share it with a link and working hot reload. - [Share a React app from localhost, hot reload included](https://ouicu.com/guides/share-a-react-app): React on Vite shares with no settings. Create React App needs WDS_SOCKET_PORT=0 before hot reload works through a link. Both tested, with the build. ## Learn - [What is a localhost tunnel, and is it safe?](https://ouicu.com/learn/what-is-a-localhost-tunnel): A tunnel gives one port on your computer a public address, over a connection your computer opens. How it works, and what it does and doesn't expose. - [Why dev servers block unknown hosts](https://ouicu.com/learn/why-dev-servers-block-unknown-hosts): Vite, Next.js, Django and Rails turn away addresses they don't know, to stop DNS rebinding. How the attack works, the CVEs behind it, and the safe fixes. ## Comparisons What other tools for sharing localhost do and cost, each fact linked to the tool's own page with the day it was read. - [Localhost tunnels compared: prices and limits](https://ouicu.com/compare): ngrok, Cloudflare Tunnel, localtunnel, Pinggy, zrok, VS Code and more: free limits, warning pages, passwords and prices, checked October 2026. - [ngrok alternatives for sharing work with clients](https://ouicu.com/alternatives/ngrok): Free and paid ngrok alternatives compared on what a client sees: warning pages, passwords, stable links and price, with a source and date for each. - [ngrok vs ouicu: free plan limits, warning and price](https://ouicu.com/compare/ngrok): ngrok is a traffic and API gateway; ouicu shares a dev server with clients.
